We are ready to go home.......but we will be here for a little while longer :o(
On the good side, Max is doing more and more in therapy. Growing stronger every day. Today he was on the tilt table and made it to
It was so cool to see him "standing up" He was up about 6 minutes before his back started to hurt him. I can't remember if I explained why this is such a big deal or not. When you have a spinal cord injury not only do the signals get confused because they can't go up and down the spinal cord ~ your muscles don't contract and move to keep your blood pressure up. So when you are upright your blood tends to want to go down to your legs and not have the contraction or pressure to push the blood back up to your heart. So you have a low blood pressure to begin with and when you go more upright your pressure can drop even more. So the more you work at it, the better your blood pressure gets when your upright.
So many new things to learn about and monitor.
Another full day tomorrow ~ hopefully I'll get some good sleep tonight....Max is busy watching the football game and once he's in bed he can watch and I can sleep!
