Friday Afternoon Written October 22, 2011 5:05pm
We made it home Wednesday late afternoon. It is always good to be home. I'm ready for Max to feel well and keep working toward feeling better.
By Thursday morning Max felt much better and was up and moving around in his wheelchair. We had a good day just relaxing and watching a little tv. The boys worked at the food pantry and I had to go and pick them up around 2:30. We loaded up a few groceries and made a few deliveries in town. It was good to get out and see some friends ~ I've missed working at the food bank.
We had a friend drop by last night on his way home from work. Max really perks up when people drop in and we enjoyed the company.
I know we are a little out of the way, but feel free to drop in anytime. I'll try and post when we are going somewhere for Doctor appointments so you don't make a wasted trip out.
I made the kids work hard today, we are blessed and sometimes the blessings are overwhelming. Max had a call and some of the guys he works with are going to cut wood a week from tomorrow and bring it to us. Saving money from burning wood will be a big blessing. Im not sure why they think that when your hurt you need less income than when your working. Well, anyway, we needed to split the wood that was piled up in front of the logsplitter that Max had been working on. We needed to split and pile that wood and then move the bikes out of the way. We may need to move the nest boxes, I'm not sure if the remaining chickens are laying there or not. As much as I hate to, I may have to get rid of the rest of the crtitters or find creative ways to keep them off the porch. I wonder if they have bird repellant? LOL
Today Max was ready to try some harder stuff. He set on the side of the bed without getting to dizzy and then we did a board transfer instead of using the hoyer lift. I think I tried to slide have his bed linens with him when I went to move him. A little hard on my back but I managed to get him in. I need to remember to put my brace on when I move him on the transfer board. I guess it wouldn't hurt to find some good back exercises to strengthen mine!
I'll try and keep things a little more up to date. Slowly but surely things are getting sorted out at the house and back to a new normal.
Wednesday is Max's birthday. We will have a big pot of soup, cake & ice cream. Feel free to stop by and celebrate with us any time after 1:00 PM Be forwarned.....we don't have a table right now so you may have to balance things in your lap! LOL
If you need directions to our house, give me a call, send me an email, contact me on facebook or leave a message on the caring bridge and I'll get back to you.
