Today was a much better day! He still doesn't like his wheelchair much,
hopefully the other one will be fixed or his will come quickly.
He really likes the new bed. It's harder to move him up and down but it's worth it so he sleeps better.
Well, between when I wrote the first part and now Max got a new bed. This bed will sit lower so we can do transfer from his chair to the bed. Basically it means we use a small board to slide him from one place to the other. That way we won't have to use the hoyer lift as often once I learn how to do that effectively.
This morning Dr. Acuff came in and indicated we "may" get to stay another week. I'm not sure how I feel about that one. We will wait and see how that turns out. The longer we stay, the more we learn, the stronger Max gets., etc., etc., etc.... I'm just ready to get home. Maybe I'll feel better in the morning. One nice thing about the new bed is it will be as low as the fold out bed. So I may be able to sleep a little closer to Max tonight. That will be wonderful!!
We had a local auto company bring a van over so we could test drive it. He brought it over and told us they were still working on it. He showed us the lift but didn't feel comfortable letting max up on it. He told me I could drive it if I wanted....but wait, it didn't have any plates on it.... So, we got to look at the van ~ might be nice once they fix it up.
Nothing like having 4 vehicles and not a one can take him home. :o(
Or even if I could get him into it, I couldn't get his wheelchair into it.
Tomorrow should will be a great day. I'm running home to pick up the kids and bringing them back here to Rusk. They have been home this week cleaning it up for us. They painted the front room kitchen & dining room. They were going to paint the bathroom but ran out of paint. They also went through some toys and priced them to take up to Sweet Buy & Buy. They are doing what they can to declutter and make room.
Tomorrow night I plan to bring the kids around 6:00 to surprise Zack for his birthday. We are going to have cake and ice cream ~ come on over and share in the celebration if your in town. I think we will have everyone in the day room if it's open. That way we can go to Max's room and then to the day room.to surprise him.
Max's schedule tomorrow is:
9:30 - 10:00 Physical Therapy
10:00 - 10:30 Newsgroup/speech therapy
10:30 - 11:00 Occupational therapy
11:00 - 12:00 Spinal Cord Group
12:30 - 1:00 Occupational therapy
1:00 - 1:30 Speech therapy
1:30 - 2:00 Physical therapy
Maybe we'll see you tomorrow night!!
