Well, you might have noticed we didn't get the schedule up for today. We got our schedule and it was all messed up. They didn't have our appointment with the Dr. on it.
We went to see the neuro surgeon today. If have noticed by the picture Max was able to get his cervical collar off today. He was so excited! I was so excited! It's nice to see the rest of his face. It's one thing at a time. So slowly but still making progress.
I got to actually transfer Max from his chair to a sitting mat using a transfer board. It is more physical but takes much less time to move him. I didn't do bad on my first try ~ didn't drop him or anything!
Last night was a yuck night. I thought the Dr. was going to wait to see if he was going to have to wear the collar longer before they decided when we were going home. Well, I guess not. Last night our nurse told us she saw where our new discharge date was Sept. 23......Sept. 23???? I was not happy, I know there's lots of things Max needs to learn, but a large part of me was ready to go home. Max was like, it's all good....I just wanted to go home.....go home and just be by ourselves. I don't think I realized how having so many people around you just slowly wears on you. Everyone here is great, don't get me wrong. But your never really alone. I don't mean as in visitors, we love tot have visitors. I mean you always have people either coming in or walking down the halls. You can shut the door but your not really alone.
I'm better today. It just sorta took me by surprise. Now I can just look at Max's face and smile. He came back to Rusk and the first thing he did was shave. He looks real good!
We also found out what we believe was causing his fever. He has some bug in his bladder that is resistant to a lot of anitibiotics. They are doing an internal anti-biotic to try and kill it. I'm glad they finally figured out where the fever was coming from.
Well, It's almost time to do some more stuff for Max before I go to bed. I'm hoping I sleep well tonight. I didn't last night and I don't like yawning all day!
Sweet Dreams Everyone......
