Saturday Night Written November 5, 2011 8:26pm
This has been a pretty good week. Monday we saw Dr. Moline for a check up, Tuesday we saw Dr. Volgus about his broken leg. Dr. Volgus said Max was cleared to stand on it as tolerated. Today we saw Dr. Acuff and he's ready for Max to come back. We talked about him going next week but we decided to wait until December. Max wanted to make the union meeting Dec 3rd so he is going the next week ~ December 5 until Christmas.
Well, I started this post last night and just now getting back to it......
It's amazing how long it takes to get things done. Anyway.....
Traditionally we spend alot of time together around the end of December so it will be strange to not have Max home He can't leave Rusk overnight or they have to check him out and re-admit him. We will miss a lot of the things we used to do. I know we aren't cutting down a tree this year! LOL I also don't think I have room for our artificial tree. I'll have to find a place for our little table top tree. I hate to think this would be the first Christmas we didn't have a Christmas tree. I'm so thankful Max is alive and doing well, I hate that we have to re-do, re-think, re-wire our whole life. Our table doesn't work for us, our waterbed won't work for us, it's hard to have a conversation about what is going on when we drive because he can't see out the windows. We went to the Columbia Mall after Max's Dr. Appointment because the kids wanted to go to a particular store ~ it was so crowded with stuff he couldn't even go in.....many of the stores were the same way. His chair just couldn't manuever in them.
It's strange how you think your life is complicated and something comes along and you realize what a breeze it was!
Max & I have talked about his going back to Rusk. It's an exciting but sad thing. Having spent so much time together it will be hard to be apart ~ but he needs to have his independence and we both know that. I guess a plus is I may get everything in order and figure out what I need to do in our bedroom. I enjoy sleeping with Max but that hideabed is killing my hips! He has a nice gel top to sleep on so it feels great to him.
Ray & Zack are going to the Chiefs game tomorrow ~ Max usually takes them. Max has been telling Ray what he needs to take, how to fix the basting sauce, everything he needs to tailgate. It's bittersweet to watch them.
Well, I need to go and get things done, just jumped on here for a quick minute. My night is far from over! Looking forward to being refreshed tomorrow at church. I pray you all have a place you can go tomorrow and rest in the Lord.
