What a long day. Starting off with worry & ending in joy. Max's fever is no more. He was able to go to surgerry this afternoon. They kept putting it back but he finally got in.
I haven't had a chance to talk to the surgeon yet, but the nurse said his surgery was uneventful. Even though that may sound bad for a party it is great for a surgery. He has a tracheotomy and the tube and straps are off his face. They cleaned out his arm and were able to stitch it up without having to do a skin graph. He looks great! Well, my definition of great and yours may very but my normals have changed and he looks GREAT! {Wait, wait, I just re-read that before I posted and seriously.....my baby looks goood!!}
Our next big goal is to keep the lungs clear, wean him from the oxygen, wean him from the blood pressure medication. Then our next big surgery will be Monday.
I think I may sleep sound tonight. I was pleasantly surprised when I ate a pretzel stick and it actually tasted pretty good. Maybe my appetite will be returning soon. On the food note, I am so blessed with food that the hospitality lady this morning told me i needed to take some to the car. It's not just my waiting room. The lovely lady who is staying in the waiting room with me jumped right in and told her that what else was I going to eat? The cafeteria wasn't even open on the weekend. My Uncle Gordon, Aunt Jackie & cousin Wendy went and out and bought me a container with a lid so my "stash" will blend in better in the waiting room. My day was blessed with many visitors and lots of love. I can't wait to see what the Lord will bring us tomorrow.
