Well today didn't go as well as I had hoped it would. We spent the morning at DW Auto. They put in a new battery and told us we need to take the emergency brake off when we were not using the lift. So you have to put the brake on to operate the lift and then take it off. When we go back out to go somewhere we have to put the emergency brake on before we can open the van doors. I guess that is better than jumping it every time we want to leave the house!
When we went to see Dr. Colbert he informed us that there really wasn't much he could do with the nerves in Max's hand. He has 3 nerves that runs from the forearm to the hand and only one of them is working right now. If one of the two would work, they might be able to do something, they just aren't sure. So we will just have to wait and see what the next few months bring our way. I was very disappointed :o( Max is doing a whole lot better than me!
We did find out that the wheelchair base is being sent to the seating place to put it together. They hope to have it in Columbia around Dec 5th. The van is still being put together and hopefully we will have it the end of December, First of January. I guess all you "I want snow for Christmas" will have to wait.....I've put in a request so we don't have snow until after we get our van! LOL
I"ll try and keep everyone updated as we wind down this path called life. A few bumps here, a few bumps there but all in all pretty good.
