It's been a good day. Max's arm was really sore from therapy yesterday so he had a pretty neat machine that put ice water on his sore arm. It seemed to help and therapy gave us some stuff to play with this weekend so he could practice. Max really doesn't want to take a break, he just wants to get on with it.
The respiratory therapist really worked his lungs over and I pray we see an end to this gunky stuff in his lungs. They did put a talking valve on for him to try and it's pretty neat. He can only wear it for a little while at a time but it's neat hearing his voice.
His speech therapist brought more ice chips for him to swallow and he was in heaven. She even told us that he could have 1/3 cup of ice chips 3 times a day if either the speech therapist or myself was there to help him. He's definitely looking forward to that this weekend. They hopefully will do a swallow test next week and we can be on our way to eating.
Max had a shower and a shave and he's a happy camper. He's resting peacefully and it's so nice to see a hint of a smile on his lips instead of the look of pain that's been there for quite a while.
It will be fun to see what the weekend brings and what Max does to keep himself busy!
